d’bi.young is a jamaican born and raised dub.poet. actor. playwright. hermother anita stewart (original member of poets in unity) was one of jamaica’s first dub.poets. d’bi was raised in a politically and artistically charged environment at the jamaica school of drama, influenced by such dub poets as mikey smith. oku onoura. jean binta breeze. linton kwesi johnson. and poets in unity.

her work is passionately political. montreal. toronto. new york. california. london. paris. & havana cuba have born witness to her aat-inna-revolushun. d’bi. has opened for such musicians as lorraine klaasen, antibalas afrobeat band, and has been a special guest invite at the international reggae festival, havana cuba for the past two years.
