"Shawna Dixon has been writing and performing poetry for over five years at open mics in Toronto. This nineteen year-old's spoken word pieces often contain both singing and poetry combined. Shawna's poetry is straightforward as she speaks messages of love, unity and understanding. Shawna has previously been in a few talent shows and one poetry slam (courtesy of Up From The Roots Entertainment). Spoken word is an important part of her life that allows her to share with others as well as enjoy doing something she loves."
