Marvel

As a founding member of the Figures of Speech crew along with Saukrates, Kardinal Offishall, and Choclair - Marvel sits among elite company. Marvel is known most widely for his song "Words Of..." which is a Hip Hop classic that exemplifies his unique voice, original flow, and the silky delivery of his very visual lyrics. Emcee's that can satisfy hunger for content and maintain street credibility are often remembered with reverence - such is the case with Marvel. In the years that fellow F.O.S. peoples sparked a strong buzz which changed the industry in Canada, Marvel had remained fairly silent. It was in 2001 that Marvel returned with "Throw This Ball" which was rinsed on community radio, became a club staple, and received substantial commercial play. The record was a reminder that Marvel hadn't gone anywhere and there are big moves in the making. With two releases - both Canadian Hip Hop classics - Hip Hop still awaits the day when Marvel will offer a larger dose of his most respected signature sound.
