DAN-E-O

DAN-E-OIn 1996 Daniel Eduardo Faraldo, better known as DAN-E-O released his first single titled “Dear Hip Hop,” — an ode to the music and culture he loves and today that love affair continues on both sides.

DAN-E-O has honed his sharp, witty and incisive skills as a rapper, releasing several singles and two albums. His debut album, The Book of Daniel (2000); and See No Evil, Hear No Evil(2003) has gone a long way to cementing his reputation as one of the prominent independent rap artists in Canada.

The 18 track album, Book of Daniel has become an underground classic in Canada. All the singles were licensed to major hip hop compilations including RapEssentials 2000 (“Corrida De Toros,”) RapEssentials 2001 (“Margerine,”) and Urbnet.com/hiphopmix VI (“Baahd). DAN-E-O has also developed a reputation for energetic live shows beyond Toronto. He has toured nationwide with Canadian rap icon, Choclair.

He has also showed an appreciation of the DIY ethic by collaborating with 14 of his friends — collectively known as Monolith — to start an independent record label (1998) known as One Rock Records. They’ve released a record titled, The Long Awaited…EP. Watch for much more from this artist/entrepreneur in the years to come.
