BLESS
Rapper, performer, B-Boy and CEO of Platinumberg Entertainment; at the tender age of 20, this is Bless. Breaking down barriers with the recent release of his debut album, Bless Presents Platinumberg, The Movement, he’s young, he’s white, he’s Canadian, and above all, he’s determined to make it in a big way.
After battling his way to the top of the Montreal hip-hop scene, he crossed the border, hustling his way through New York City and quickly hooking up with the likes of DJ Lethal, Raheim of Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five and Guru of Gang Starr. Guru signed Bless after meeting him at the Rocksteady Crew Anniversary, and they recorded “Never Ending Saga”, which appeared on Guru’s Baldhead Slick. At 19, Bless released his first 12” on Ill Kid Records, which debuted on the underground hip-hop charts at number six.
His first two videos, “My Time” and “Talkin’ To Me”, both feature Guru and are now in rotation on MuchMusic and MuchVibe; however, those who are quick to attribute his success wholly to the Guru connection are in for a surprise.
